The Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP) is additional funding for early years providers to help close the gap between children from low income and other disadvantaged families, and their peers nationally. The EYPP was intorduced in April 2015.  Parents were invited to provide their National Insurance number when completing the declaration forms for the 3 and 4 year old funding. Gloucestershire County Council then used this information to calculate which children were eligible for the extra funding.

The EYPP is additional to the free 3 and 4 year old funding.  It will be used by the setting to address and underlying inequalities between children eligible and their peers nationally by ensuring that funding reaches the pupils who need it most.
