"Field Court C of E Infant Academy is a school where Christian Values inspire us all to learn in a friendly, vibrant, happy place with the well being of our children, staff and families placed at the heart of everything we do."
Collective Worship
As part of the Gloucester Diocese, we use Christian Values as part of our Collective Worship and every day throughout the
Taking a value from a Christian prospective we explore it using Bible stories and stories from different religions to illustrate it.
We sing the Lord’s Prayer at the end of every Collective Worship. It’s a joyful way to finish! Why not sing along?

We also enjoy singing some traditional songs during Worship, such as 'He's Got The Whole World in His Hands'. Join in by following this link...

We have a Spiritual Garden which is used for reflection as well as having story time and spending quiet time with our friends. Every one of our classrooms has an area for reflection.
We welcome many visitors, from all cultures, who share their beliefs and experiences with us including Open the Book, Mr Rea (Christian Artist) and Father John. We also take time to visit St. James', our Parish Church.

Christmas at the St James' 2019
Mr Rea
Mr Rea is a local church worker, who leads our worship once every six weeks or so. He uses painting and drama to bring alive the Gospel stories in a way that our children can understand, usually involving some of our children in the drama, and interacting with the children to explore what is happening.
The life and teachings of Jesus are taught in a way which ties directly into our own school values and the painting, which he completes during our worship is left behind for display. The key words and depiction of the story in hand remind the children of what was shared, reinforcing the values explored.
Here are a few examples of the stories he has covered recently:
Eucharist
Each month, 6 children from Year 2 attend Eucharist at St James' Church. Here, the children take an active part in the service often reading prayers, preparing the resources and assisting Reverend Jenny.
Children say:
"I liked taking the candle up."
"Seeing the adults eat the bread was different."
"The wine is meant to be Jesus' blood."
Patrons say:
"It's lovely to have the children in the church!"
"They were so well behaved."
Each classroom has a Reflection area where we can reflect upon our Christian Values.
We believe that everyone should have a voice in our Collective Worship. We therefore invite anyone to write a prayer for us.
If you visit our school, there are prayer hands available in the entrance hall for anyone to write a prayer. Alternatively you can email Mrs Biscoe using admin@fieldcourt-inf.gloucs.sch.uk
We read these prayers during Worship. Sometimes we repeat the prayers as they are timeless. As new ones arrive, they are hung on display in the hall for all to read and take a moment to pause.
Our vision is linked closely to John 10:10 - I may come so that they may have life, and have it to the full. Having worked with all of our stakeholders, we voted as a school on our six Core Values. These Core Values drive all that we do and we know you will see evidence of them impacting our school should you come and visit us.
Our Core Values are: -
Friendship, Courage, Respect, Truthfulness, Forgiveness and Trust.
The children and staff explore these during Collective Worship and we ask families to contribute to the Values Tree display in our entrance hall to show how they live out each of our core values on a day-to-day basis.
Here are some examples of activities and tasks that are sent home with the children, each term.
